Is this with maple syrup also? A doctor I know advocates this cleansing

diet. Detox diets have been in the news here in the US. J.

Re: Moderator in intensive care

All the health and recovery to you Jim,

I've been trough similar disaster with something that is called the

" lemonjuice diet " . It involves, lemon juice, cayene pepper.

I became so week that I contracted Tuberculoses, had to take anti-biotics

(and bad once I tell you, cause me ME for years) for one year.

Be very carefull with all these o so simple diets, better to keep eating

normal and use oxytherapy and natural detox. You can be quite healthy if you

want, but living for ever is not an option, so don't put your live in

danger.

Hope you will recover soon

Love and Light to you too.

Does anyone have any research or evidence based guidelines for a " detox " diet?

I am a fairly new RD (1.5 years) and have been asked to help develop/implement

an MD supervised adult wt management program. One of the RDs is recommending a

24 to 48 hour " detox " diet and then gluten and dairy free diet for the next 7

days with very low animal protein. I am concerned b/c I was never taught about

" detox " diets in school or my internship and feel very uncomfortably giving

these recommendations without guidelines or evidence. Also, I feel the

responsibility as an RD to help unmask all the " quackery " around nutrition, and

often the whole " detox " notion is just that....quack. There has even been

mention of encouraging the patients to do tongue cleaning to help reduce their

cravings. This was something that our manager (not an RD) learned in a

integrative nutrition program at Columbia.

Any guidance on this topic is very much appreciated. You can post or email me

directly. Thanks!
