Guest guest
Why do you think 1 chicken breast has 100g of protein? What is the source of that information? It probably has about 100 calories, but that's different from grams of protein. 1 gram of protein has 4 calories 1 gram of carb has 4 calories 1 gram of fat has 9 calories Does that help? n At 08:03 AM 4/12/2006, you wrote: >Maybe I put it the wrong way: > >As far as I know, 1 chicken breast (the size of my palm)is 100g, if >i consume say 6 portions of protein a day that equals 600g instead >of the suggested 130g. > >Even a can of tuna (80g) is the size of my palm, eat 6 portions and >there it goes again. > >Have I been measuring everything wrong all the way!!!!!!!?????? > >Help me out - I'm freaking out now. Guest guest
I am giving a presentation tomorrow in which two of my doctors will be present. The topic is protein in regards to bariatric patients. One of my docs is a huge proponent of protein supplements and thinks the more a patient take in at once, the better. (Example two protein shakes for a breakfast is much better than 1 shake and some solid food) I remember reading somewhere that the body may not be able to benefit from high dosages at one time and therefore most of the protein would be excreted from dosages above 30 grams. I can't find any literature to support anything though. Can anyone help?
