Guest guest
That is accurate. If you average 20 grams of protein per meal, you¹re at 120 for the day already. I don¹t think you did your math correctly. Guest guest
Maybe I put it the wrong way: As far as I know, 1 chicken breast (the size of my palm)is 100g, if i consume say 6 portions of protein a day that equals 600g instead of the suggested 130g. Even a can of tuna (80g) is the size of my palm, eat 6 portions and there it goes again. Have I been measuring everything wrong all the way!!!!!!!?????? Help me out - I'm freaking out now. I'll never survive sharing 1 can of tuna between 4 meals.... i'll starve > > > HI all, > > > > I just checked out 'buff mother's' website - according to that you > > should if your target weight is 130 consume 130g of protein per day... > > I freaked out... if i eat ONE portion (palm size) of protein it is > > about that amount alreay (i weigh 142)... times 6 and it looks like > > I'm heading for obesity! > > > > she also suggest taking 3-5g of creatine 3 times a day... Guest guest
Okay, you're freaking out for nothing. Sure one chicken breast weighs 100g, but the actual grams of protein in that chicken breast are only around 30 grams. As for tuna, there's usually only about 43 g protein per 6.5 oz can. It's not the actual weight of the food, but the protein it contains. Hope this helps. > > > > > HI all, > > > > > > I just checked out 'buff mother's' website - according to that > you > > > should if your target weight is 130 consume 130g of protein per > day... > > > I freaked out... if i eat ONE portion (palm size) of protein it > is > > > about that amount alreay (i weigh 142)... times 6 and it looks > like > > > I'm heading for obesity! > > > > > > she also suggest taking 3-5g of creatine 3 times a day... > SHaaaaIT! > > > > > > I felt so good this morning when i got out of bed and had my > hand on > > > my quad... geez gals - its HARD! Guest guest
The chicken breast may way 100 grams but it only has about 23 grams of protein. One 6.5 ounce can of water packed tuna has about 33 grams of protein. You can use www.fitday.com or www.calorieking.com or look at packaging lables to help you get a feel for this. ) Elise > > > > > HI all, > > > > > > I just checked out 'buff mother's' website - according to that > you > > > should if your target weight is 130 consume 130g of protein per > day... Guest guest
600g is the size of the chicken breast, not the amount of protein in it. There are approximately 25g of protein in a chicken breast. Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestion, i was sitting here biting my nails. Hope they use grams and kilograms on those sites, i dont even know what an ounce is! In other words i can eat 4 cans of tuna (not that i want to...) PER DAY. i don't like this grams thing so much - its quite overwhelming and scary, my palms are my friends these days! > > > > > > > HI all, > > > > > > > > I just checked out 'buff mother's' website - according to that > > you > > > > should if your target weight is 130 consume 130g of protein > per > > day... > > > > I freaked out... if i eat ONE portion (palm size) of protein > it > > is > > > > about that amount alreay (i weigh 142)... times 6 and it looks > > like > > > > I'm heading for obesity! > > > > > > > > she also suggest taking 3-5g of creatine 3 times a day... > > SHaaaaIT! > > > > > > > > I felt so good this morning when i got out of bed and had my > > hand on > > > > my quad... geez gals - its HARD! Guest guest
Do you have the book? Just use the approved foods and keep the portions to either a palm or fist size and all this grams stuff just doesn¹t matter, unless you¹re bodybuilding or power lifting. Guest guest
Unless you're a numbers nerd like me, don't worry about grams and ounces. It will just make you crazy. Go by the palm/fist method, and as long as you are seeing results, then you're doing fine! gertha_schulze <no_reply > wrote: Thanks for the suggestion, i was sitting here biting my nails. Guest guest
What protein are you eating that has 130g per portion? Or, how big is your palm? Are you confusing grams with calories? 4 oz of tilapia fish has 21 grams of protein (84 calories, at 4 calories per gram of protein) 1 large eggwhite has 3 grams of protein (12 calories) 4 oz of raw cod has 21 grams of protein (84 calories) 4 oz of raw chicken breast has 21grams of protein (84 calories) HTH n At 08:03 AM 4/12/2006, you wrote: >HI all, > >I just checked out 'buff mother's' website - according to that you >should if your target weight is 130 consume 130g of protein per day... >I freaked out... if i eat ONE portion (palm size) of protein it is >about that amount alreay (i weigh 142)... times 6 and it looks like >I'm heading for obesity! > >she also suggest taking 3-5g of creatine 3 times a day... Guest guest
Why do you think 1 chicken breast has 100g of protein? What is the source of that information? It probably has about 100 calories, but that's different from grams of protein. 1 gram of protein has 4 calories 1 gram of carb has 4 calories 1 gram of fat has 9 calories Does that help? n At 08:03 AM 4/12/2006, you wrote: >Maybe I put it the wrong way: > >As far as I know, 1 chicken breast (the size of my palm)is 100g, if >i consume say 6 portions of protein a day that equals 600g instead >of the suggested 130g. > >Even a can of tuna (80g) is the size of my palm, eat 6 portions and >there it goes again. > >Have I been measuring everything wrong all the way!!!!!!!?????? > >Help me out - I'm freaking out now.
