Guest guest
Hello Dr Siff and others. As part of my client's testing protocol, I decided to include the vertical jump as a field test to measure muscular power. Or at least lower body muscular power. The power estimate would be obtained by using the formula. According to the manufacturer, the vertical jump is obtained by measuring the flight time of the subject. The result of the jump is read off the computer as flight time and vertical jump in inches. There are additional modes such as the four jump test. The subject jumps four times in rapid succession. The computer determines the ground reaction time/time incontact with the mat, the time the individual is in the air /flight time. The air time is divided by ground time to give a Explosive leg power factor rating. The average vertical jump is also included. Also Included is a 60 jump anaerobic endurance test which is determined by comparing the first 15 jumps with the last 15 jumps. My question is, what else can I use the mat for? You mention comparing a non dip jump to a dip jump to determine explosive strength deficit. What type of numbers should I be looking for? The testing device is used for lowerbody analysis, but could I use ballistic vs non ballistic pushups to determine upper body explosive strength deficit? Any suggestions on how else to use this testing device would be helpful. Also I have the 1999 version of Supertraining, how can I obtain the latest version?
