Guest guest
I too can recommend this book! I wish I could afford to give a copy to everyone I know who has GAPS. Anyone have advice on cutting back on or elimating grains and starches without throwing your whole food budget out the window? Thanks,
Guest guest
Where can this book be purchased? I only could find a site from the united kingdom. Thanks, Shari -------Original Message-------
Guest guest
Eggs and organ meats are reasonably priced. I eat lots of those along with lots of raw dairy in all forms. I find that by eating very nutrient dense foods, I eat a lot less and thus save money on food. I've eliminated all grains and starches for now but may eat some porridges this winter. I don't eat many fruits and veg. either. > > I too can recommend this book! I wish I could afford to give a copy to > everyone I know who has GAPS. Guest guest
Body Ecology is featuring it now. You can get it from them for $29.95. I think I bought mine on Amazon for less than that, but they don't seem to carry it now. Kathy

Guest guest
Another interesting thing is every puppy had a perfect bite. I x-rayed three of the pups because my vet initially thought hip dysplasia. I told him that was not an issue, but he wanted to check. I was also confused about what was happening because puppies are not suppose get what looks like regressive autism. All had perfectly formed hips. Hips are an issue in large breed dogs. Everything formed normally in utero, except one puppy had a tiny split vulva. It didn¹t quite close all the way. Not a big deal and have not had problems with infections or anything. In chapter 5, Dr. -McBride writes about Dr. Shaw (Great Plains Lab) who used an anti-clostridia drug (Flagyl) and autistic type symptoms reduced in some cases, but after stopping meds, symptoms come back. I¹m going to Autism One and will see if I can find Dr. Shaw. My girlfriend is a physician and has two boys on the spectrum and I asked her to check too, she sees him. I also plan to fly out and meet Dr. C-M at the next Weston A. Price conference. For those of you who see Dr. Hruby, I shared this with him too. Guest guest
Just curious Kathy, because I am a 10 year raw feeder--Beardies and English Bullies --only bred one litter,Bulldogs. I kept only one pup, Mom now 8 and * pup * 5 years old -- Pup, my only second generation raw is HEALTHIEST dog I have ever had --but also only do minimum vaxs( single adjuncts only, spaced apart = only one parvo and distemper --titers thereafter ( rabies every three years by law ) also don't use any of the pharmaceutical heartworm prevs.-- just blood test and naturals . Bulldog litter was born by emergency C section--emergency vet clinic--holiday weekend -- week too early --was there for the birth, all over in an hour ! Never fed this pup kibble but give Omega 3 fish oil every day, so lots of Vit D. I never use probiotics for the dogs --but Primal Defense with its HSOs seem to me be the most logical form of probiotic for the canine. Back on topic --My initial interest in nutrition started by feeding the dogs their traditional diet :-) --I am now a mature student at the Canadian School of Holistic Nutrition--I am attending the Holistic Nutrition Fair in Toronto next month where Sally Fallon and Enig plus Canadian Margo Kidder are keynote speakers --( hubba-bubba) Will, here in at the Whole Foods in Oakville, 5 miles from my house -- the grass fed beef comes from a local farmer Berretta Farms --not as you describe for the US--Perhaps things are different here in Ontario ( only three WholeFoods in all of Canada ) plus much of the other meat and poultry --cheese and produce are locally produced or from Quebec -- Carol Anne --Mississauga, Ontario
