Guest guest
Of perhaps greatest importance to thyroid patients, those researchers found that the various antibodies that indicate celiac disease - organ-specific autoantibodies (i.e., thyroid antibodies) -- disappear after 3 to 6 months of a gluten-free diet. The researchers suggested that patients with autoimmune thyroiditis "may benefit from a screening for celiac disease so as to eliminate symptoms and limit the risk of developing other autoimmune disorders."http;//www.thyroid-info.com/articles/glutenceliac.htm

This is at least a very optimistic and positive thing to look forward to! , what made you do the gluten anitbody test? Was it recommended by your top notch thyroid doc? Guest guest
You know Patty, he and I were talking and asked him to test for me for it. Although I really didn’t display all the digestive symptoms, or the weight loss=I really had a feeling that something else is going on, that is making my thyroid so hard to treat. I also read so much on thyroid and all, I kept coming up that thyroid and celiac are VERY closely related, and if gluton is cut out, the thyroid thing gets much better or goes away. I also remember Mercola saying I had high titers to gliadon, a gluton deriative. (but I had so much going on, I I didn’t really look into how much stuff has gluton and just cut out breads and grains) I just really want to fine tune into my "triggers" So, he did test for it, and was astonished! Called me 5 days later himself. He was like "julie, you are going to believe this, girl." " I have to be honest with you, though. I Am not upset at all about this. I am glad I found this out, as I believe I will get much, much better doing this. I don’t see this like a disease, and really should call it gluton intolerance, more like a food allergy, that many people just cannot tolerate-but I do take it very serious. PAtty, the Lord works in mysterious ways, so I got my head up. I am looking forward to feeling better, and have been told to expect more energy, no more joint pain, and the peripheal nueropathy thing to go away! Really. Please- bring it on! And, you know how I have to take all this vitamins and minerals to feel up to par? That’s because I wasn’t utalizing all my foods, and absorbing them. That’s why it causes an array of symptoms in so many. it depends on how "allergic" you are ,and how much damage has been done to the intestines. And the intestines will completly heal within 3-6 months of gluton free diet and the gluton antibodies go away. The process stops. . Love (PS- the doc thinks the implants triggered it, and also it is not that hard to follow! I can eat a lot, and a lot of brand name things, and also go to www.glutonsolutions.com- their peanut butter cookies are to die for, and I swear this, I really thought it would be bad, yucky- but their new 5 star brown rice pasta- get this- takes like the real stuff. I made it for my Italian, hubby and HE DID NOT KNOW the difference!) WOO HOO! Re: antibodies go away after gluton is out of diet I need to watch you closely girl, since you and I seem to share so many symptoms!
