Guest guest
Hi Tammy Whereabouts in Canada are you? We are in Vancouver, BC and my daughter has a 45* curve, being treated with serial casting while we look into the VEPTR for her. Chat soon Jacki > > christine > they have been monitoring and treating him since he was about 8 month old, > but the first orthro i had tries alot of thing braces to theropy etc. but > nothing worked and he wanted to operate and that is when i came to find this > website and got a second opionion and found another ortro to take us on. we > are in canada. and this is the most progress we had since he was little and > i hope it keeps going. > 70 degree curvature-does anyone else have a > > child with a degree this severe? > > > > > >> Does anyone have a child with a 70 degree curve or higher? Guest guest
So we're not too close then LOL! We couldn't persuade our ortho here in Vancouver to give Casting a shot. He wanted to continue with bracing, though her curves were increasing, (she wore the brace 23/7 and her highest curve went up to 45 degree's). Instead of fusing her spine at 12 yrs old, he said that she would need a fusion done at 8 YEARS OLD!!! That's when we decided that travelling would be a better option for us! The closest doctor we found that was willing to try Corrective Serial casting was Dr D'Astous in Salt Lake City. We've been seeing him for nearly two years now. We all love him, so to us it's well worth it! Oh, and my daughter is 6 yrs old now. Good luck Tammy. Guest guest
Hey Unfortunately, Tammy and I are from opposite ends of Canada, which is a shame, coz I know what you mean about connecting with people - It IS so important! Looking forward to seeing you soon and Eliana!
