vitamin supplements causing diarrhea

I have a patient that is taking Centrum chewable and has been experiencing diarrhea since he started the vitamin. He is lactose intolerant and I know that some drugs contain lactose, but I am not sure about vitamin supplements. Has anyone every had a patient that has experienced this issue?
