Guest guest
Hi , Welcome home! I am glad you were able to spend time with Amy and my little man Jaeden. Time goes by so much faster when you have another Mom to hang-out with. Sorry, I missed you in Denver last time. Please let me know when you have another lay-over, and I will make it a point to come and meet you for lunch. Happy to hear that you both are well. Have a nice weekend. Sincerely, HRH Were back!! Hello all!Eliana and I got back home from our third casting trip at SLC late last night. Once again, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about that hospital, and Dr. D! I'm so sorry to have missed everyone who were there the week prior, it really helps the kids to see others going through the same thing. Even at Eliana's age, it was obvious that she enjoyed little Jayden's company, as I did Amy's. Hey girl! Hope Jayden is continueing to do as well as he was when you discharged! Anyway, as for Eliana, she is also doing great, it is soooo amazing how adaptable they are! Before the first cast Eliana was at 100 degrees with 65 deg. kyphosis, 17 deg. rotation and an RVAD of 40. The out of cast x-ray was taken 10 hours after removing her second cast and she measured 74 degrees, in cast she is now at 52, kyphosis zero. Dr. D was unable to measure the rotation and RVAD this time due to the quality of the x-ray and not being able to identify certain markers. We are very happy with the results and she is much happier in this new cast as the last was getting very tight. Her skin looked great however, no pressure sores. Even though we got 22 deg of correction, they are still somewhat concerned about how the curve is responding, and coupled with the fact she has a deep sacral dimple and walks on her tip-toes alot, they think perhaps she needs another MRI of her lumbar reagion to check again for teatherd cord. She had an MRI done in the NICU which appears normal, but I guess when they are that tiny sometimes you can get a false negative. So that is the next hurdle. I am so glad to be home and to catch up on everyone though, and I will post pics of her new cast as soon as I get some more time., I'm so sorry I missed you in Denver. Maybe next time we can meet for lunch as it seems as though we are going to regularly have a connecting flight from there since its the least expensive route for Miracle Flights. I hope Olivia is doing well, please tell her hi and HUGS from Eliana and I! Sorry this was so long and thank you to everyone for your support! I'm exhausted from the trip but I hope to catch up with everyone soon. Take care and God bless!!!!! and Eliana
