Birthday cake frosting

Well, we are starting our family rounds of birthdays! (we are spring

and summer only). I would like to bake my husband a birthday cake,

and can adapt the recipe for the cake portion no problem. But I am

having trouble adapting my frosting recipes using a natural sweetener.

Does anyone have a chocolate frosting recipe using something other

than powdered sugar? I prefer to use agave nectar, but would be

delighted to have a recipe using maple syrup or even honey over

powdered sugar.

Thanks!

Carol,

Have you tried using powdered maple sugar? It mixes up a lot like powdered

sugar. Lakewinds does very nice natural cakes using whipped cream (yum!) for

the " frosting. "

Good luck and let us know what works.
