As an alternative to cow shares, has anyone done a boarding contract like a horse boarding. Can i sell an individual a whole cow, charge a fee for boarding and milking and have the owner pick up the milk from his or her cow? I also want to do my own SCC and plate counts and if possible my own cultures. Does anyone know how, or where I can learn? Blue Mounds: Cress Spring Whole Milk Dairy, 4035 Road, Blue Mounds, WI 53517, a Amelong and Tim Cordon, (608) 767-4234, cell: (608) 516-6455, cordon4peace@... , www.cressspringwholemilkdairy.com, Raw, organic, pastured goats milk. 2. Loganville: Cowshare program in Loganville, 1 hr NW of Madison. Contact Vernon Herschberger (608) 727-2632. Cress Springs is doing a goat boarding contract where you buy a goat or part of a goat, pay a boarding fee and get raw milk. Vernon is no longer doing a cowshare program but is now set up as an LLC. You pay $10/ year to be a member and then can purchase all the raw dairy you want. Contact these 2 farmers for more info.
