But, Jenna's a little thing and Grace had a lot of brute force behind her. You may have more luck with keeping Jenna in one spot due to that. We're going to have to think of some way we can make a tracing, or create some sort of mold to refer to every week to prove or disprove the "is it working?" factor. Tinfoil? Plaster of Paris? Guest guest Posted March 10, 2000 Report Share Posted March 10, 2000 Karla, We have been aggressively repositioning Cameron for about 5 weeks now, but I wish wish wish we had started earlier! Our doctor noticed the flattening at 2 months, but just told us to try to prop him to the left. We tried, but figured it wasn't that big of a deal. At his 4 month appointment, the doctor told us about helmet therapy and told us if it wasn't better at his 6 month appointment (March 31) he would refer us, which scared us into doing everything we could to keep him on his left and to start doing research. I think his head is actually looking better, but with only 3 more weeks until his 6 month appt, I know his head is still going to be funny shaped. The whole right side was very flat before, and now the bottom half seems to be rounding out but not the top half. I can't help thinking that if we had been aggressive about it at the 2 month point instead of the 4 month point, he would have had a much greater chance. I actually called today to get a referral to a cranial specialist just in case so I can make an appointment in advance... I don't want to waste any time waiting for an appointment. You have found this site and are doing your research early so I think you have the best chance for success that you can have, if repositioning is going to work for Jenna. When he told us at her 2 month appointment I was pretty casual about the repositioning for a few weeks, then I found all of the information on Plagiocephaly and began aggressive repositioning.
