I am trying to lose weight but some doctor told me that when you do too much exercise, like 2-3 hours a day, your metabolism goes on a survival mode. Is it better to just bike-ride 1 hour a day, 5 times a week, combined with a diet? I would appreciate your answers ASP [You have to identify what is meant by " too much exercises " . Is it genuine overtraining which is producing stagnation of progress, decreased motivation, listlessness and even injury, or is it some person's opinion that " too much exercise " generally is " bad " for the body? If the former, then obviously, you need to cut back on training, but if the latter, just continue to enjoy what you are doing.
