Zipfizz and elevated B-12 levels

Hello everyone,

A patient (several years out from R-en-Y) contacted me about her

elevated B-12 levels. Her labs from her primary care physician showed

B-12 at 85,000. Normal high is 1500 pg/mL. She is also taking three

Optisource a day.

She has 4 Zipfizz drinks a day, their " Liquid Shot " product that has

B-12 and electrolytes. The drink is promoted as having 25 nutrients.

I checked out their online site. It does not list the exact amount of

B-12. It contains Xylitol and Sucralose as sweeteners. The site says

B-12 does not have a toxic level and you excrete what your body does

not need. It also says the amount of B-12 is less than an injection

your doctor might give you.

There's 100 mg of caffeine, from green tea and Guarana.

This patient's level is very high and I advised her to stop the

Zipfizz and have her PCP monitor the dose.

Wanted to share this today!

Thanks,
