Hi everyone,

Haven't posted alot lately - I've been either very tired or busy.

I am 11 weeks pregnant and my doctor just called today to tell me that I

have a bladder infection and (not surprisingly) wants me to take an

antibiotic. I don't want to do that. I know about cranberry juice (I

will be taking some as soon as I buy some - tomorrow). Is there

anything else I can/should do? Please answer this offlist as I am on

digest and I'd like to be able to know the answers before I come into

town tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Also, I have been suspecting for awhile that I may be hypothyroid. I

suspect it because of I'm having trouble sleeping, I am often cold even

when everyone else is fine, I had been waking up in the morning hot and

sometimes sweaty, I had been losing lots of hair and I had a miscarriage

about 2 1/2 years ago and I had been having trouble losing weight

(obviously not doing that now though). I asked him to do these tests:

> TSH, Free T3, Free T4, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone,

> potassium and calcium levels, DHEA, B-12, Cortisol (saliva),

> thyroid antibodies, ferritin, Vitamin A, D, and E levels and

> insulin.

He would only do the TSH and ferritin. He said the others are either

obviously fine otherwise I wouldn't be pregnant or that because I am

pregnant they fluctuate too much to be able to determine anything from

the results. When the nurse called to tell me of my bladder infection

she also said that my TSH is fine. I will be getting a copy of the

tests' results in the mail (probably Monday or Tuesday).

thanks,
