Guest guest
Hi All, I have a pt coming into see me who is s/p gastric bypass surgery ~3 years ago. Pt is 2 months pregnant. Are there specific calorie guildelines you have them follow? I want to make sure she is receiving enough calories throughout her pregnancy without expanding her pouch. Would you say 1500-1700 calories would be an ideal range? I will make sure she is receiving enough complex carbohydrates at her meals to avoid ketosis. do you usually have them take a mvi along with their prenatal vitamin or just the prenatal? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Surpisingly enough, I have had very few s/p gastric bypass pt's that have gotten pregnant. thank you! O'Donnell RD, LD Never miss a thing.
