Did anyone actually recommend to you to consume just 10% of calories from fat? A low-fat diet generally includes 20% to 30% of calories from fat. There are essential fats you must get from your diet to remain healthy. Fat isn't evil. Guest guest
: [Even though has been banned from this group, I have let this message go through because it contains ideas which others may wish to think about and discuss. Mel Siff] If you really want to feel better, stop using NUTRA-SWEET (apartame) and any other unnecessary drugs (that is what nutra-sweet is!) Visit the following webpage for more info: http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/ I have given up all drugs (caffeine and Nutrasweet - I was a horrible diet Coke addict) and have regained my health over the past year. Another concern I have is your calorie count. How much do you weigh/ want to weigh? 1600 is awfully low for a man. You might also want to consider eating more protein (I've read that you should consume 1 gram for each pound you weigh and 1.5 grams carbo's per pound of bodyweight). Also, eating 5 or 6 meals a day (approx. every 2 hours) really helps blood sugar levels to remain constant (a great help with depression). Sugar, refined flour, carbonated soft drinks, and heavy fried foods should be avoided. Another MAJOR help with depression is EFA's (essential fatty acids). Many people experience a great deal of difficulty with ultra- low fat diets. Fatty fish (such as salmon), olive oil, flax seed oil (can be taken in capsules) and linseed oil should be used to supplement the diet. These help with bodily as well as proper mental function. As far as your routine, 4 to 5 days of cardio 30-45 minutes should be sufficient and you should consider adding weight training to your regimen. Also of great importance...make sure to get enough sleep!!! Adults can vary from person to person from 6 to 10 hours per night. Red......?
