Guest guest
Hi Jen, thank you for your reply and I wish you and Mason all the best too, my heart goes out to you I woudl be a basket case if Ricky needed surgery! Especially with the back and heart! Best wishes, > Hi > My name is Jen, I am also new to the group. My son Mason is 12 months. The scoliosis he has is only at a 20 degree curve and has not progressed in 4 mths. They are not going to intervene with any type of treatment yet. With congenital scoli I believe it can go either way. It can either stay the same or worsen as he grows. But continuing to get xrays to follow it and to look for the physical signs of it would be the best way to follow. I'm sure you know what to look for physically as you have it too. My goodness I am sorry for have gone thru all that when you were so young. > Mason also has congenital kyphosis which is at 35 degrees. They are trying to treat it with a spika cast right now hopefully trying to avoid surgery. > He has a heart defect too, named HypoPlastic Left Heart Syndrome. He literally only has half a heart. He has had 2 open heart surgeries and will have at least one more, which will probably be in Sep. this year. He has had a few complications dealing with his heart but all in all completely happy and fully content with life. > Good luck...please let us know what happens in June. > Talk to you soon > Jen and Mason >
