Guest guest
I'd like to make some emu oil lotion for my sister-in-law who suffers from arthritis. I've never made lotion so I need step-by-step instructions in addition to ingredients.
Guest guest
Can stearic acid be used instead of the emulsifying wax? That may be a dumb question, but, after all, it IS coming from me!! Guest guest
Emulsifying wax keeps the water and oils mixed together and has nothing to do with thickening which is what steric acid does. Hope this makes it clearer. Guest guest
No, it does not work! I tried it by accident once. I was making a cream and forgot to put in the emul wax, but I did have stearic acid in it. It didn't emulsify and I had to dump it. Guest guest
Thanks!! So, if I want to make my shower gel and lotions thicker, I can add stearic acid??? Guest guest
I buy unscented shower gel and add FO's but it's just too thin to sell well. Thanks, doll, I'll give it a try!
