Guest guest
, Don't worry about getting into SLC. It sounds very positive to me, and Dr. D'Astous is our Dr. The veggie thing cracked me up because had the same thing about 6 months ago. Don't panic because it takes about 3 months to completely go away. Our fingers and toes are crossed for you!! Crista
Guest guest
Hello all, and thanks Carmell! I guess I just needed someone to give me their opinion as to whether I was just being " paranoid " . Getting her seen, or at least her latest MRI/CAT scans seen, by a ped. neur. is next on the agenda. I'll have to have my doc referr me or my insurance wont pay! Thats a whole other tangent, LOL, I best not even start! The latest on her SLC app is that dr. D's nurse coordinator called me and let me know Elian's records are in his office, and had been given to him, and he wanted to confer with some other docs, but that her status was " priority 1 " ,(whatever that means)? I told her that my doc here was going to call and see about expediting things, and she said that things were already classified as status one, and she would be in touch when any decisions were made. I'm assuming that is good, but it seems as though everytime I " assume " something, I'm wrong. These little angels of ours cetainly keep us on our toes don't they?, LOL. I pray she is not to severe to be casted, everyone says Dr. D is a compassionate man, so I'm trying to be optimistic. I'm just still concerned with the whole " transferred denied app. " business. Oh, and by the way, the thread I posted regarding jaundice....I took her to the doc and found out she is not juandiced, but has kerotinitis, I probably just totally mispelled that, oh well, it just means she eats LOTS of yellow and orange veggies, which she does! Funny, didnt even know that could happen, like I said, on my toes! LOL, anyway, thanks again everyone for your support. , mom of Eliana

Guest guest
> Thanks Crista! I really appeciate the support! Thanks for all the crossed fingers and toes! They worked cause we got approved and an appt. date set. What do you think of Dr. D's bedside manner? All the orthos weve seen are very dry and matter of fact, almost abrasive. Just curious :-) > > > , > Don't worry about getting into SLC. Guest guest
It sounds like Christa is helping answer some of your questions re transportation to SLC. I'll let you know our experiences - The Vancouver Shrine wouldn't help us get to and from SLC, as they would only cover us getting to and from our closest Shriner's Hospital. We have flown Angel Flights a couple of times, and had a wonderful experience. Their info is in the " Links " section of the group. I've heard that Miracle Flights is good, but they wouldn't help us " foreigners " up here in Canada! But I do highly recommend checking out Angel Flights. Hope that helps a little. And keep us posted on your appointment. Jacki > > > Thanks Crista! I really appeciate the support! Thanks for all the > crossed fingers and toes!
