Guest guest
Colleagues. I know this is a long post, but please indulge me. There are many reasons to vote for a candidate for Governor, or any other political office. If we just focus on a single issue, that candidate may be wonderful for us, he or she may do everything in their powers to improve us, as in me or my selfish situation. However, in my humble opinion, we sell ourselves short if we don't vote for the candidate that will improve our local, state, or federal government, rather than focusing on the one issue that may have very little to do with the overall health of our state, and/or country. I choose to look at a candidate that will do the best job at returning our state to a vibrant, healthy, and prosperous economy, educate our children without allowing special interests to dumb down the testing procedures, and push our children into bankruptcy, rather than pushing them to succeed. Even though I haven't gotten the opportunity to discuss with Dudley, his vision for our profession, I have had the pleasure of meeting him multiple times, and I listened to his vision for the entire State of Oregon, and our children's future. If you simply go to chrisdudley.com, you will be able to see his " Jobs First, Oregon's Recovery Plan " , his " 26 Point Budget Reform Plan " , his " 20 Point Plan to Create Private Sector Jobs and Stimulate the Economy " , his " 18 Point Plan – Educating for Our Economic Future " , and many other great, fresh ideas for Oregon's Recovery. I won't go on and on with his plans here but at lease Dudley has a plan for Oregon If you would like, you can go to this link, http://chrisdudley.com/media/press-releases.html, and see for yourself. Again, maybe Dudley isn't promising our profession the moon, I really can't say one way or another. But I can say, with confidence that at least he is looking at making big changes to our state. And as a direct result, us as a profession who will enjoy patients that have the money to come see us, pay full price, and/or enjoy great insurance benefits that will include us as providers. I would rather see this scenario for Oregon, than one that has us included as PCP, in a health care system that pays peanuts, and has strict limitations on the amount of care the patients can receive. Call me simple minded if you would like, but I believe a robust economy will take care of our patients, and in the long run, take care of us. Begging for small scraps of the " health insurance loaf of bread " isn't where I want to be. Thanks for reading.
