Guest guest
Dear Doctors: I would like to propose the immediate re-hiring of Dr. Saboe at the December 14, 2010 membership meeting. Dr. Saboe should NEVER HAVE been terminated in the first place. I specifically remember that on the November 18, 2010 meeting we voted and passed a motion/ & discussed that there was to be no contractural agreements with either lobbysit, and no changes regarding the lobbyists were to be made until the new board was elected by the general membership. This is what was also agreed upon by the OCA board members on Novembmer 18, 2010 general membership meeting. (we were told by the OCA board that there was no contract between either lobbyist) as of November 18, 2010. I believe this has been or at least should have been documented in the minutes of the meeting. If money is an issue for the OCA, then I suggest we develop a "Dr. Vern Saboe lobbying fund", so that doctors whether it is members, or non-members can donate to the fund (whether it is $20, $25, $50, $75, $100, $500 or more---Per month). There are about 800 to 1,000 doctors in the State of Oregon...even if 1/2 of the the doctors donate some money on a monthly basis to the "Dr. Saboe's lobbying fund" we should have more than ample funds for Dr. Saboe's salary, and then some. Dr. Saboe can draw his salary from that fund, the rest can go to a seperate--"ice-pack fund" which Dr. Saboe has authority to distribute to the politicians as he sees fit. ( The moneys which are left over above & beyond Dr. Saboe's salary)-- & when Dr. Saboe gets an ASTROMINCAL Pro-chiropractic Bill passed, Dr. Saboe should be bonused for "work well done" out of that "Dr. Saboe's lobbying fund". The amount of the bonus would be via a vote by the doctors who donated the money. This is a suggestion. We should have given a bonus to Dr. Saboe for ALL OF THE HARD WORK & positive achievements he has done for the chiropractic profession in the past, and instead he is "TERMINATED". I just don't get it. Of course this has to be put together legally etc. via attorneys. Hopefully the Gatti, Gatti Firm can help up with this. We NEED VERN ASAP to continue to lobbying for us! I truly believe this is so that chiropractic can prosper in Oregon. On a separate note, the general membership should also be appraised of the spending by the OCA board & "overhead" of the OCA. A financial statement should be provided by the OCA board to its members. This information should be available on a quarterly basis on the OCA website which members should have access to via logging in etc. There needs to be transparency with the OCA board to its members. SEE YOU ALL ON NOV. 14. @ WSCC!! Sunita Bhasin, DC
