Guest guest
If you would like an association health plan, please contact the OCA oregonchiropracticassoc@..., and express that idea. I offered to organize one over a yr ago. I found an ins company that was willing to underwrite and set it up. I passed the information on to the association. In order to do it, the agent needed to know the ages of those requesting it inorder to have a workable plan. I passed that info on to the OCA office. However, the flyer that was mailed out to us all just asked one question, do you want one? WIthout ages, the agent couldn't set it up. I didn't have time to folllow up on it. The office staff may be overworked. However, if enough members wanted it, and expressed an interest, it might get off the ground again. I'd be willing to contact the agent again, but we'd need a list of ages of those interested. The agent said to include family members ages that might be included as well. We need an email list for the association. CUrrently we don't have one. 1. join the OCA 2. express interest 3. realize that it will take some time to set up. I do think group rates could be substantial. Minga Association Health Plan Do we have a group health insurance policy as chiropractors? I know other associations (non-chiropractic) group together to dramatically decrease their health plan costs. If so, can I get that information. Guest guest
Minga and al, the correct email for the OCA is chirooregon@.... the gmail adress doesn't receive messages. I like the idea of a group health offering, but underwriting could be a problem. My son is a UWS student and found out thier student group health plan is very cumbersome when he had some routine medical lab tests R Johansen D.C. Guest guest
No. To give a quote, the underwriters have to know quantity and age. Plans are determined by that criteria. The estimate can't be done without it. For example, if there are 50 members under 35, it could lower the cost of the ones over 55. If there are 60 children all under 15, that also would lower costs of the older members. Plan premiums are delivered based on age and sex. The actuarial tables are made up from stats that consider disease patterns according to age/sex and number of folks in each category. If you can find an ins. underwriter who'll give a price without that info, please send it to the assoc office. thanks, Minga Guerrero DC Association Health Plan Do we have a group health insurance policy as chiropractors?
