Soiree with Davana

Okay so I have been working on a new blend that I have named Soiree.

It has become my baby causing me to set aside the one I had been

trying to perfect (the one I had sent samples out of named " Juke! " ).

I am in love with my new blend and I think I may finally have

something " right " .

So with all the talk of Davana I decided to make a new test batch and

add a smidgen of Davana to it.

Here goes ......

(shaking not stirring)

initial reaction: (about ten second time lapse) Too strong -

overpowering (no shock there)

Five minutes later : Ylang Ylang and Katafray are TRYING to peek out

from under Davana. Surprisingly though Sweet Orange is lost which I

thought impossible since it was almost too strong before and I had to

tone it down.

(need to clear out the nose)

(ten minutes later) Sandalwood is coming through now. I MAY be

getting a hint of the Jasmine AB BUT the Rose AB seems completely

absent!

(half hour later) well this is odd but now the whole essence smells

of Davana and Sandlawood. I am not sure if I can detect anything else.

It is a nice blend actually and I do like it - it is not repulsive by

any means and I can certainly see this being a fine children's blend

but I have lost my lovely Soiree! Davana is very special - " she " is

strong and demands attention! I will leave until much later and come

back I am sure things will change again but for now I am going to

stick with my first blend! I just thought it would be fun to see

where Davana took the Soiree! I am glad she hooked up with Sandalwood

at least " he " could handle her! So far though Davana is definately

the life of the party!

I shall report later!
