LIsterv and fellow OCA members.,

I give you permission to copy this email and use it away from the listserv in order to get information out to others not on this venue. I am sending a copy of this to the OCA office in spite of not receiving any answers. I do want a coordinated effort for the meeting. Ideally, I'd like reimbursement for name tags, and incidental expenses.

A few of you have emailed me to ask about the minutes. To date I have had no response from any OCA board member or ANY staff; to my request for minutes from the 11-18 meeting. I did finally, ask an attorney to request them from Tonkin and Torp. He received a response in less than one day. I was given a rough draft of the minutes.

However, they were not approved by the board. They are taken by the board secretary. Technically, when the notes are 'rough draft' and unapproved, anything can be ammended by other board members. I will meet with the attorney again on sunday to see if I can have permission to release the rough draft. I'm so sorry to keep this from you a bit longer, but I need to do things in order. I ask for your patience.

I will need donations:

I will be asking any that can afford to help with the fees for attorney and parlimentarian to bring a check for $25-50 (more or less is fine!). Parlimentarian fees were quoted at $100/hour. The attny fees depend on the length of this meeting plus the 3 hours prior in preparation, making a request for records form the board, reading bylaws and more. (The records request cost me. The board would not reply to my requests as a member and elected chair of the Nominating Committee. I had to resort to other means to get the minutes.)

My best estimate at this time for attny fees is approximately $650. Any funds left over can go to lobbyist fees, if you approve. Any money collected, will be recorded by name and amount. It will be deposited into a separate account and paid out to the attny and the parlimentarian. An accounting will be made available to anyone who donates or to interested chiropractors, whether they are members or not. Non-members are welcome to donate to this cause. As everyone understands, "what the OCA does can ultimately affect ALL Oregon chiropractors."

I know this is now a broken record, but: Please come to this 12-14-10 meeting. Bring every OCA member you can. At the entry to the meeting hall, I'll need you to pay attention to the following:

1. Members and non-members: please sign in before entering the room. Neatly print the contact information on the appropriate sheet of paper.

2. OCA Members will receive a red name tag. Non-members will receive a white name tag. Place your name tag in an easily seen location.

3. Non-members, please allow OCA members the floor for all discussion. You may be asked to leave the room in the event a written ballot/vote is taken. you should not have to leave the room for a simple show of hands. The chair or those counting can easily see the colored name tag for counting. This is not to denigrate your considerate attendance. It's only to assure that ALL written votes are made ONLY by OCA members. We need no controversy on this issue.

4. When speaking, please do your best to keep a polite and professional tone. NO CURSING should be tolerated. There will be a seargent at arms.

5. If a non-member has a question, find a member you feel will be willing to ask the question for you.

6. Do not carry on excessive conversations during the meeting. Let the speakers have full attention. If you need to communicate with a colleague, bring paper to jot a note or whisper in the lowest voice possible.

7. We are still hoping to find an unbiased parlimentarian. If we suggest one, it may require a motion and a vote by show of hands from the floor.

8. Make every effort to keep this organization unified. I actually have very little worry about this. I feel so humbled and in awe at the generosity of spirit and togetherness I've felt with the communications, apparent over the last few weeks. There seems to be a fairly large sentiment to stay unified and moving in the same direction. I think we just need to help the Interim board understand our collective desires.
