issues that impact our practices--our scope of practice, PI and WC issues, and

various bills that Vern has been working on as the Face of Chiropractic for OCA

and even before OCA. I have been amazed at what my colleagues were out doing on

our behalf--on MY behalf. I had NO idea. ly, before subscribing to this

listserve, I was just going about my business providing excellent and loving

care to my family of patients. I simply didn't have the energy to deal with much

more than that.

> I'm sure that the recent events that have spawned such a flurry of passionate

and thoughtful emails have been a bit unsettling to many of us. And I know that

many of you have worked to bring Oregon Chiropractors together under the canopy

of one tent. While I'm sure that wasn't easy, I believe it was essential for

the survival of Chiropractic in Oregon as we know it and for the development and

betterment of our profession as the sands of healthcare shift under our feet. I

also have to believe that every one of us--the present board and Vern

included--has a personal stake in maintaining ONE organization, even if--or

especially if--there are divergent ideas and loyalties.

Pilot " . I am joining you all as a paying member of OCA--paying my dues to help

those who are working on our behalf and also PAYING more attention to those

issues that affect us all.

OCA IS OUR VERY OWN DR. SABOE. Not only has he been the 'Face of Chiropractic'

that has helped forge meaningful and effective legislative connections that, in

turn, have yielded important 'wins' for our profession, he has also gone out of

his way to provide ME with advice and even copies of some of his office forms

that have helped me in my own practice. I can say that EVERY single time I

emailed or called Vern, it was a matter of a few minutes or hours before I

received a helpful response. I truly value that, both personally and

professionally. Finding one person with Vern's level of knowledge, connection,

energy, passion and generosity is likely as scarce as finding a needle in a

haystack. IMHO...

> A wise person once said, " Sometimes it takes a thorn to remove a thorn. " God

knows, this current 'dispute' has not been easy for any of the parties involved.

But necessary change sometimes demands a certain level of chaos in order to

bring about heightened awareness and subsequent reorganization. Kind of like the

BIG BANG. It's uncomfortable, even painful sometimes, but if we all keep our

minds and our hearts open, we can emerge from this dispute better, stronger,

more aware, more committed and even more united.
