,

Your surgeon is right. They can't always do enbloc but at least he's aware to get the whole capsule out. He sounds like a good guy.

Are you getting a lift?

thank you for all your responses! i can definitely feel the love and support among this group...i had a question though: what is the difference between en bloc and capsulectomy? during my search for a surgeon, one told me that he would make every attempt at doing an en bloc though sometimes it's not possible b/c of the danger involved. yet he told me he would definitely remove the entire capsule. is this sufficient? or should i insist upon an en bloc at all costs? thanks again.

Do you mind saying what doctor said that? That seems correct from

what I'v learned. Sometimes, I think, the capsule may be to thin.

the name of the surgeon is dr. melmed in dallas texas. he's done

over 750 explantations and from what i hear, does not do implants

unless the patient is adamant after knowing all of the possible

risks.

i don't anticipate getting a lift because i have very littls breast

tissue. but then again i guess i'll leave that up to dr. melmed to

decide.

, he did my surgery on May 12th. He is very straight in what he

tells people. You will be well cared for.
