WHEREAS: More than one of every ten Americans, or 25 million people, suffers from chronic, disabling conditions that cause major limitations and decreased quality of life, and

WHEREAS: Doctors of Chiropractic are preventive care providers, who focus on the health of the whole person, and have particular expertise in the prevention and care of neuromusculoskeletal injuries; and

WHEREAS: Doctors of Chiropractic can offer practical advice on exercise, stress reduction, and nutrition; and

WHEREAS: Chiropractic is the largest, most regulated, and best recognized of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine professions, and

WHEREAS: over 4,000 Oregonians are employed in Chiropractic offices around the state,

NOW, THEREFORE: I, Theodore R. Kulongoski, Governor of the State of Oregon, hereby proclaim the month of October to be:

OREGON CHIROPRACTIC MONTH

In Oregon and encourage all Oregonians to join in this observance.
