I am happy that you are happy .. but the truth is .. Russian cities,

like cities in Turkey or America or any other country I have worked or

lived in, are not all so great .. some (like St. sburg) are truly

beautiful. It would take a week or more to see all worth seeing in

St. sburg. But some are worth a one or two day trip. My wife is

from Magnitogorsk .. the Russian Pittsburgh .. two days is enough to

see the sights in Magnitogorsk. ;-)

But every place has something of value .. I miss the mushrooms from

the Urals .. and the home made vodka (samogan?) .. and Baltiki 7. ;-)

Off the path a minute .. I believe that humor is good medicine, and

there is quite a bit of good, dry humor in Russia. One example, which

I am sure you know of .. was a saying from Soviet times .. regarding

St. sburg:

Where were you born? St. sburg.

Where did you go to school? Petrograd.

Where do you live now? Leningrad.

Where would you like to live in the future? St. sburg. ;-)

Back at the farm .. I've lived in four cities in Turkey (Ankara,

Adana, Izmir and Istanbul .. over 26 years total here) and though I

prefer to live in Ankara, I never get tired of visiting Istanbul ..

and I truly look forward to visiting St. sburg again. :-P

I thought we were talking about Russia .. you have just described the

United States of America .. and most of Europe. ;-)

When it comes to recognizing a lack of quality, there might be a more

healthy attitude of skepticism in Russia than in the USA .. we have a

lot of folks in the USA who are quite satisfied with mediocre oils

because they just don't know the difference. And we have no shortage

of con artists who are willing to promise the moon when it comes to

therapeutic gain .. some are multi-level marketing schemes and some

are just misinformed (lazy?) amateur marketers who regurgitate much of

the bad information they can find if it helps them to sell their products.

I thank you ma'am for the kind words .. I have a good number of

friends and customers in Russia.
