Guest guest
Excellent! Many thanks Reeta, saved me the chore of searching for it. A quick skim, aided by word search for 'health visit' and 'school nurs' (before I get my supper, haven't actually read it yet!)1) lots that we already know about the lead role of health visitors with the Healthy Child Programme (inclusion of this in the document confirms that HCP will continue to be government policy, which is good), doubling of FNP, refocusing of Sure Start children's centres back to their original purpose, and lots of emphasis on additional 4200 health visitors, mainly in paragraphs 3.7-3.92) there will be a four year 'transformational programme' for health visiting, to be published shortly, para 3.83) there will be a central NHS commissioning board and a ring-fenced budget called 'public health England,' which will fund and commission health visiting and school nursing amongst others. The NHSCB will 'work closely' with GP consortia and proposed statutory local and health well-being boards to maintain inks with local authorities and primary care. These arrangements will not affect employment arrangements, para 4.43. This is really important, as it means local services can begin to focus on getting and developing services, without being convinced they will be stopped by local budget cuts. 4) Lots about schools and school age, but little about school nursing. Commissioned, as above; they will develop school entry health review (para 3.22), and DH is also developing a new vision for school nursing.Did anyone else pick out any gems?On 30 Nov 2010, at 18:53, reeta chaudhry wrote:[Attachment(s) from reeta chaudhry included below]Regards Reeta Cowleysarahcowley183@...http://myprofile.cos.com/S124021COn
