Lupus and fibro here and my memory problems have to do with finding the right word for what I mean - you will notice that I sometimes list a number of words with "/" between them, this indicates that I was searching for the right word, could not find it and that those words are similar to the word I was looking for. I also have to use a calculator for "easy" math even though I did well in college mathematics up to and including Differential Equations (this is pretty high powered mathematics - the only higher I could have gone was Advanced Calculus 1, 2, and 3). I also have problems with names but the name problem has always been a problem for me.

-- Lupus & Memory Problems

I was just curious if anyone here that has lupus or fibromyalgia has had trouble with their memory since their diagnosis? My mom has lupus and a lady I work with has fibromyalgia. Both illnesses have very similiar symptoms, so I sort of talk to his lady about what my mom goes through and she has the same thing happening with her. Both of them didn't have any trouble before, but now even something very simple is hard to do. Like now, they have to write down everything because they will forget it or simple tasks at work that they have done repeatedly for years now even become difficult sometimes. Its very strange how this happens and I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems. Even like reading a book is hard because the both say its so hard to concentrate or they will have to go back and reread something because they can't remember what they read or it just don't make sense so you have to go back through it. I'm trying to find out more info about it and does anyone know what might be causing or if there is anything they can do to try to fix it? Abby

my mom and my coworker have problems with that too sometimes. they kinda say its like your brain freezes or something, you know what you want to say or mean, but it don't come out right or you can't get it out. this is so strange, i'm really into looking for information on this and seeing whats being done to help figure out what is causing this.Pegasus <pegasusnumber1@...> wrote: Lupus and fibro here and my memory problems have to do with finding the right word for what I mean - you

Hi, I'm new but reading this about the memory problems I see a description of myself. I haven't been diagnosed with lupus but i do have memory problems and my brain seems to stick at times. Very annoying and frustrating.Dawnangelbear1129@... wrote: me too Lupus and fibro here and my memory problems have to do with finding the right word for what I mean - you will notice that I sometimes list a number of words with "/" between them, this indicates that I was searching for the right word, could not find it and that those words are similar to the word I was looking for.
