Guest guest
Hey--do all of you who do weights at home have a weight bench? My arms are really quite weak, so I think I need to work out at home before I go to the gym! The gym doesn't have as low of weighs that I would like to start with. I'm starting with 2's, 3's, 5's, and 8's. Sad, I know. But, I was looking at the exercises and it looked like to me that i could just lay on my back on the floor and do them. Whatdya think? I was just trying to build up my strength before taking it to the gym.
Guest guest
I did get a bench for home...from Kmart. It was about $45. Not bad. It had an incline, and a leg deal for leg curls and leg extensions. I've used it for 6 months now. Just bought a Weider to replace all of them...except I do still use dumbbells for some exercises. Guest guest
I workout with dumbells all the time and I don't have a weight bench. Sometimes I lay on the floor, sometimes I use my coffee table, sometimes I use my big swiss ball and sometimes I use my Reebok step. You can do quite a few good exercises without a bench. > > Hey--do all of you who do weights at home have a weight bench? Guest guest
I have a weight bench , but started by using the floor and a hope chest at the foot of my bed. You can do rows by putting to kitchen chairs side by side. and Don't feel bad about your weight pounds. I started with 1's, 2's, and 5's Bridgette > I did get a bench for home...from Kmart. Guest guest
Have you tried looking in the paper? Lots of people buy gym equipment and then end up using it as a coat rack or in this case a place to fold clothes!! Look for something really sturdy, you don't want it to move while you lift or you could injure yourself. You can also use an exercise ball to do bench presses on BUT you want to get used to balancing on it before you start to lift. There usually is a video or at least a sheet with exercises on it when you buy the ball. We all have to start some where so quit feeling bad about the weights that you are using! If your consistent the weight will go up rather quickly. You will be surprised at how easier 'life' is when you are stronger! stace
