Mental health leads

Hi Does anyone know who’s the lead for mental health at the Department of Health? Also is there a lead for maternal and infant mental health? I had a feeling Lowenhoff was there or have I made that up? I’m a trustee for a newly formed charity set up to raise awareness and look at support etc out there and carrying out research on postnatal depression so info would be useful. Hi Ann,

Dr. Ben (Ben.[AT]dh.gsi.gov.uk) from the nursing division heads up

mental health (and LD). I do work with him as part of my role co-ordinating

Unite/MHNA (Mental Health Nurses Association).

Dear Ann,

the mental health 'tsar' is Prof. Hugh Griffiths, a very thoughtful doctor.

Our suggestions to his White Paper working group included a section on

perinatal mental health, but the final document (after the Politicians have

got their hands on our 6 months' work) could include anything:

it is due out very shortly....
