Sorry I won't be able to do June. I will be away.

Best wishes,

Meeting up

Hi All

Following on from my last email with suggested dates for meeting up in March or April - and I are finding it difficult to find a venue on those dates.

So we have had further thoughts and want now to suggest we move it to June which will give us more time to plan. Neither of us can do May as is away and I am going to have surgery on my knees so will not be available.

So for June we could go for 10/11 June or 24/25 June.

Perhaps people could come back to say which would suit and if anyone can suggest a venue at a reasonable cost - do let us know. Also it would be helpful to know how much people would be prepared to spend as we have to fund ourselves. The St Albans centre is £61 but if we go to a hotel it will obviously be more.

I look forward to hearing from everyone again.

Regards

Margaret

Hi

The 10/11 June is favourite for me as I will be on leave from 17th when students go into consolidation.

I am so looking forward to putting faces to names.

Thanks for making arrangements for this.

HI

I can make any of the dates in June, happy

to help out looking for venues and help organize the day.  I live in Lincolnshire.

Here are some suggestions for venues.

Luther King House – (it is a

theological college) near to Manchester

http://www.lutherkinghouse.co.uk/

Most Universities would have finished by

June so we may be able to get it cheaper!!

University of Warwick http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/conferences/

Loughborough University http://www.welcometoimago.com/conference-venues/loughborough-university/

University of Nottingham

http://www.nottinghamconferences.co.uk/online-bb-bookings/

(I am not sure if they have space on the dates – but it looks like they

have space midweek)

I know some libraries have conference

rooms or community facilities, I am happy to look around.

Best wishes

Elaine

Many thanks MargaretI have double-checked with St Albans Pastoral Centre, and they book up fast. They have space available on the Friday evening/Saturday of 24/25th June, but not for any other weekends in June, in the Fitz-Reiner Room, see http://www.allsaintspc.org.uk/TheFitzReiner.htm . There are 22 single rooms available; the place itself is beautiful, relaxing in large grounds and the food is good, but the rooms are very basic, not en-suite. The cost is £90.50 per person inclusive for 24 hours, starting 5pm on Friday. The Fitz Reiner Room seats up to 60, so presumably more people could join for the Saturday only (I haven't asked about day rate yet). I have asked them to hold this for week, after which we will need to pay a deposit to secure the booking. Shall we go ahead with this? I don't want to steam-roller, but feel that we need to make a decision soon, because we will never find an ideal place and date for everyone. Depending on responses, Margaret and I will confirm (or not) when we meet on Thursday next week. best wishes On 11 Feb 2011, at 08:40, Margaret Buttigieg wrote:Thanks to all who have come back about this. and I are meeting up on Thursday evening so will discuss further and then post at the weekend. I can send a deposit whenever you like and would appreciate getting

together. Moving house this summer may make things a bit

complicated, but these are exciting times for health visiting.

Thanks and others who have all not only 'signed up' but also been conscious of covering the deposit, very thoughtful. I think it is probably easier if they only have to deal with one person for bills, and the initial deposit is only £5 per person. I am making a note and one we confirm it (it sounds as though there is general agreement that we go for this) I will email everyone off-site with payment details.kind regardsOn 12 Feb 2011, at 10:15, sarahforsyth7ry@... wrote:Hi Can you put mine and my colleague, Carol Bushnaqs name down, we would love to go. Hi

Sounds like most are up for this and that the weekend of 24/25 June is a good one. Suits me better as I will be in Newcastle on the Friday 10th so that would have been a more difficult weekend.

Look forward to confirming when we meet on Thursday.

Regards

Margaret

Sadly I must send my apologies. It will be

my wedding anniversary that weekend so have other priorities at home.  I’m sure

you will all have a great time and will feel very enthused as a result of the collective

energy.  I can vouch for the St Albans Centre – it is the perfect setting for contemplation

and creativity.

Hi everyone, I hope you have a great weekend. I’m sure if I was still practising it would have been great to have met with you all(and put names to faces) and had a good old debate about stuff but my world is so different now. And after the work Margaret and I did 2-3 years ago great to have met up with her .. sure we will one day! I know it’s a long way off but have a great weekend!
