Dear All

This sounds like a brilliant idea and I would love to come but it is chicken and egg .

It will depend on where it is geographically and the date (as well as what I ought to be doing).

Senate Weekend

Dear All

In the past when we have had things to discuss around health visiting and school nursing we have arranged a SENATE weekend.

IN my discussions with and others - we thought it might again be a useful idea.

Can I check out with SENATE members who would be interested and wish to come.

We could either go to a hotel or if anyone has a venue we can use - we could do that and stay nearby. Obviously there is not any financial resource so we will need to fund ourselves.

Perhaps members could get back to me as we will need to sort ASAP.

Regards

Margaret

Hi

Yes it does sound good. I know it would be useful as well to put faces to some of the names.

Depending on date and how it fits with the calendar, share the cost of travel with you Val if you are travelling from Ipswich.

All the best

Hi MargaretSounds like a great idea, sunny Scarborough would be a great place for everyone to come ( I'm bias of course!). Thanks for posting this Margaret, it's great to see so much immediate enthusiasm. The first big questions is 'when' - the conversation we were having was that usually February is a good month for very cheap hotel deals (after all, who wants to go away for wet weekend in February),which is good as it would necessarily be self-financing. Once you get into March, prices start to rise, also would not want to clash with UKSC weekend or the Profile Productions Child Health conference in the second half of March. But February is very soon. Could we aim for the third or fourth weekend? Trouble is, that clashes with half term. Looks like people are quite keen on this idea so just thought I might make some suggestions re dates:

Looking at my diary - I can do 11/12/13 February with the next weekend I am free being 4/5/6 March

Then I am away with no more free weekends until 8/9/10 April.

How are people placed and a question of where - do we go for the middle of the country?

Hi

I am also keen on the idea of a SENATE week-end, can I just remind people that

5/6 March is the CPHVA Research Week-end (in last weeks journal) which some

SENATE members may also wish to attend so it would be a shame to clash?

Sounds good. March preferable to Feb as latter often has nasty weather surprises., but should we look at April in view of the research weekend in March? Agree

somewhere fairly central.

Thanks elaine , unfortunatley last month I took a post as a " nurse " , even as I write it I feel sad. I remain passionate about HV and would still be interested in developments but not sure I qualify as a member now . Sharman xOn 17 Jan 2011, at 20:56, "Elaine Bielby" <elaine.bielby@...> wrote:

Weekend

Hi All

Looks like people are quite keen on this idea so just

thought I might make some suggestions re dates:

Looking at my diary - I can do 11/12/13 February with the

next weekend I am free being 4/5/6 March

Then I am away with no more free weekends until 8/9/10

April.

How are people placed and a question of where - do we go for

the middle of the country?

Re:

Senate Weekend

Thanks

for posting this Margaret, it's great to see so much immediate enthusiasm.

The first big questions is 'when' - the conversation we were having was

that usually February is a good month for very cheap hotel deals (after all,

who wants to go away for wet weekend in February),which is good as it would

necessarily be self-financing. Once you get into March, prices start to

rise, also would not want to clash with UKSC weekend or the Profile Productions

Child Health conference in the second half of March. But February

is very soon. Could we aim for the third or fourth weekend? Trouble

is, that clashes with half term.

Dear

In the

IN my

Can I

check out with SENATE members who would be interested and wish to come.

We

could either go to a hotel or if anyone has a venue we can use - we could do

that and stay nearby. Obviously there is not any financial resource so we

will need to fund ourselves.

Perhaps

members could get back to me as we will need to sort ASAP.

Hi Sharman

Of course you do – once a health visitor with your passion always a health visitor. You would be welcome.
