Guest guest
Sad? These poor Bill stories are getting old ladies. Bill is a millionaire and still making money with Eating for Life and other projects and probably hasn't thought twice about either Oprah show questioned on this board. Bill has raised money for worthy causes that have nothing to do with fitness, and raised public awareness about obesity and the need to live healthier lives. I highly doubt TWO women on Oprah who failed to mention BFL will take away from the recognition he has earned. It's really disturbing how emotionally involved some of you seem to be about all of this. On a different note, one of the ladies on Oprah mentioned the Zone diet, which I remember Mina speaking highly of in the past, and Bill himself stated that a lot of principles implemented in his book were inspired by the Zone. It sounds like it has been out for decades. Does anyone know how the Zone works? > I, for one am sad that there is never any mention of BFL and Bill > on Oprah (when champions are on) or other places. Guest guest
The Zone came out in 1995 by a Scientist named Barry Sears a few years before Body for Life. Sears uses the palm portion method, balanced frequent meals, and explains how to plan meals that regulate insulin levels and cravings. You can read more about it here: http://www.zonediet.com http://www.drsears.com > > I, for one am sad that there is never any mention of BFL and Bill > > > on Oprah (when champions are on) or other places. Guest guest
I should add that although the book by Sears called " the zone " wasn't published until 1995 he had been utilizing that knowledge with clients since the 1980's. > > > I, for one am sad that there is never any mention of BFL and Bill > > > > > on Oprah (when champions are on) or other places. Guest guest
> The Zone is based on protein/carb/fat ratios of 40/30/30. The Zone ratios are 40/30/30 but thats 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fats so thats really the main difference of eating more carbs and fats than the BFL program of 40/40/20. http://www.the-zone-diet-plan.com/ Similar but not the same ;-) <<joni>> *The worst part about getting bags under your eyes is finding the shoes to match* - Adrienne E. Guest guest
I've heard Bill is coming out with a reality show that follows participants during their 12 week transformation. Maybe Mina and have plans to appear on that show in the future to support Bill and his new endeavors. EAS and the Body for Life program are " technically " not affiliated with Bill anymore. So their reasons for not pushing BFL on Oprah may be totally different than what many have insinuated. However, this all speculation, I'm just choosing to look at this from an optimistic view point. > > I, for one am sad that there is never any mention of BFL and Bill > > > on Oprah (when champions are on) or other places. Guest guest
Another reason he Bill may be MIA is...oh how can I say this...I think Bill is best heard and not seen. I could not bear to watch any of his videos. He is terribly wooden on film and the man can go about 4 minutes without blinking. I know he has a brilliant mind and he has changed my life with BFL, but I think he comes off as a tool on film. I love him though! I did hear that there is a Body-For-Life for Women book coming out soon. Has anyone else heard about this? > > > I, for one am sad that there is never any mention of BFL and Bill > > > > > on Oprah (when champions are on) or other places. Guest guest
He is creepy looking in those!! My hubby and I joke when we are at the gym, and he will bug his eyes out (like Bill), asking if that's all I got on the leg press to make me press more... and I start to laugh!! I like the videos though.. Find them very motivating... The BFL Women's book - is that really necessaruy? I don't know, I think everyone knows how to tweak it to their needs, as well have all posted over and over. =) I am not sure I want to waste my money on a new book for just women. I thought BFL was Unisex. Someone did post about it on here before though... I forget the name of it though. Anywho, glad to see you still posting, Ruth! How is everything going? > > > > I, for one am sad that there is never any mention of BFL and > Bill > > > > > > > on Oprah (when champions are on) or other places. Guest guest
Hi and Ruth. Maybe I'll dig out those videos and watch them again. I never noticed that about Bill's eyes and body language. Although, when I first heard his voice I thought it was a bit annoying and didn't seem to match the way he looked, but it grew on me and I even bought his audio book last year and had no problems listening to him. His message outshines the sound of his voice. Has anyone seen recent pictures of Bill? New hair cut, even color I think, and his physique looks even better than before! Also, that's so funny about 's husband in the gym. lol Sounds like Arnold Swarzneggar's eyes. Arnold gets that bugged out look when training or excited also. Too funny.
