Guest guest
Regarding the post of the dangers of this product. What is the drug for? Is it the same as roaccutane? I was on that twice over the last decade and it is a really important drug to people who suffer with severe or chronic acne. Acne may sound like a mild condition in comparision to many other health problems but it is very debilitating. It can strip people of their confidence for life (even once the acne is cleared if it ever clears), they can become housebound and generally miserable, avoid relationships and sex and many more emotional problems. I know because I suffered from it and so did my two brothers. Lucky for me being female I was able to go on Diane 35 a contraceptive pill which fixed my problem however whenever I go off it the problems come back. In an attempt to find a life long solution I went on roaccutane twice. The side effects at the time aren't that pleasent but for some people it can fix their problems for life, sometime two - three treatments are needed first. The pill caused me a lot of really awful side effects including severe migraines. My specialist warned me of the birth problems and I was very vigilant with contraception and infact used the pill AND condems whilst on it to be sure to be sure ! ! ! Unfortunately some younger people who are on it may not follow these instructions as well so it really has to be drummed into them as graphically as possible. However I assume roaccutane has the same make up due to the similar word accutane and its all very well to ban things but think of the people it may affect. Many drugs cause problems with birth defects and so on and it should definately be clear to the patient that this is so but at the end of the day we take responsibility for our own contraceptive decisions and our own bodies. I personally am very thankful to what this drug did for me and for many others. Te're. (33) Australia, suffers with 'colitus symptoms' and severe weight loss as a result.
