Infant constipation advice

, I did a paper on infant constipation when attending a year of the

pediatric diplomate program through Palmer College. I have had great success

with very young children, my grandson included, with adjusting the second sacral

segment p-a. I have used a double thumb contact over S 2 with the patient

prone, as well as using the activator. I also adjust L4-5, and both si joints

in side posture.

It is amazing how much children love to be adjusted. The child I wrote the

paper on had Hirschsprung's disease and had been treated medically for several

months with everything from strong laxatives to just plain old vegetable oil.

Nothing worked. When I adjusted her for the first time she had such a large

bowel movement that her parents took her to the ER thinking I had killed her.

She was in a lot of distress as you might imagine, filling two diapers within 1

hour of the adjustment. Didn't see her back for about 6 months because the

mother was scared it would happen again. After her second adjustment, the same

thing happened, and from that point forward I adjusted her once per week for 1-2

years, and she is now a 13 year old young lady that has no problems.

My grandson had problems intermittently with constipation of 2-3 days duration,

and adjusting him in the same manner cleared it up. So I might just suggest

that you adjust his second sacral segment p-a, and then just do some

mobilization/manipulation of his l/s spine and si joints. Make sure you warn

the parents of what might happen.

I didn't really suggest any change in diet, I don't remember what the young

female patient's diet was, but my grandson was breast fed, so this wasn't a

problem for him.

Let me know what happens.
