Simon:

I have a patient (female, 40s) who suffers from gastric paresis. They

finally had to install a gastric stimulator. Helped her some but didn't

cure her altogether. Lives on a liquid, high protein diet.

Dear List mates,

Any experience w/ 40 yr old DM1 or any other diabetic patients

suffering from this condition?

The patient had already been through phase 1+2 liver cleanses,

on nutrition programs addressing digestive enzymes, endocrinology w/

thyroid hormones. Bloating and fullness gradually got worse after

patient making good progress after @2-3 month Nutrition prog. and

Thyroid hormones ( working with her M.D.). She recently got worse over

last 6 wks.

Apparently this is very common. One option they are talking

about is Vagal surgery..I can't see how this would help. She says the

endocrinologist said she may need a feeding tube.

Let me know if any of you have experienced diabetic patients in

your practice who have suffered from this. She has been insulin

dependant for @38 yrs.

Cheers,
