Guest guest
Hi Judith: I find that a lot of pubic symphysis pain can be helped by making sure the iliacus muscle is strong. The deal with the pelvis is that it is like tuning up a bicycle wheel. You change the tension on one spoke and the rest are effected. First lightly wiggle the iliac bone medial to lateral. Likely either the right or left is more hypermoble. With one hand lightly compress the iliac bone medially on the hypermoble side. Sometime you have to compress more to push the ishial tuberosity together sometime you have to compress more in the front. Then with the other hand touch behind the hip and gently internally rotate the hip to engage the iliacuc muscle form the pelvic bowl to the lesser trochanteric area. When you do this sense if there is an adhesion between the lesser trochanteric area and the pubic bone area. If there is lightly release the adhesion. I find that the iliacus muscle usually tests strong after I do this release. This is obviously a delicate area. A pelvis is not in proper tensegrity contributes to hip locking. Hip locking contributes to adhesions between the lesser trochanter area tissues and the pubo ishial ramis area. These women alway need to learn to do squats. I have them hold onto a door knob and start doing tiny little squats. To much stress also contributes to hip locking. At somepoint she might consider working fewrw hours so she doesn't get other complications. Come to my office sometime. It is easier to show than to tell. Judith Boothby, DC Pubic symphysis pain during pregnancy. Posted by: " Judith Allan " jallan2@... jdthlln Mon May 17, 2010 4:22 am (PDT) Okay you brilliant docs, looking for ideas here. My daughter-in- love is 25 weeks along her pregnancy, she is doing her residency in Emergency Medicine and works up to 60 hours a week (on her feet a lot). Told she has mild mild placenta previa that will likely resolve by her next Ultra Sound. She is currently presenting with pain in pubic symphysis during the onset of movement. It resolves after she is up and around a bit. I am visiting them in NY now and have blocked her pelvis, it helps. I am going to order her a PreNatal Cradle (PreNatalCradle. com) and wish I had my Activator here....... Any other suggestions. ..... and does anyone know of a doc in Rochester NY I can refer her to guide her through her pregnancy. Thanks in advance for the feedback, always so great to put so many great minds on one issue and see the results!! All the best, Judith Allan, DC Lake Oswego, OR Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (2)
