Guest guest
Hi , No not brave, just got wiser with age ) I have been through the denial and the suicide tries, took a lot to finally wake me up to face myself... The self pity I had was so over whelming... Finally I wanted off all medications that I didn't need to survive on... I was tired of sleeping my life away and missing so much of my children's and hubby's live's... I can't change what I have to go through, but I Can do something about how it makes me feel... I can either feel sorry for myself, which gets me no where, or I can do the best I can and survive and not let the ailments win!!! ) I don't know what a day with out pain is anymore, its my life, I can't change it so I have to make the best of it... ((( Caring Hgs )))Helen Helen, You are a lot braver than I am. If something hurts, I usually don't do it. Guest guest
Helen, Brings to mind the serenity prayer. And I do think you are brave. A lot of people aren't brave enough to stand up and say that they won't have their life controlled by illness. You are and that is admirable. I try to be brave for my husband's sake, but it just doesn't work. He has a brain injury and needs a lot of care and attention, but gosh darn it, so do I! Sometimes I wish for my Mom's lap and a big teddy bear - LOL. Would be nice to just feel taken care of. Ok sobby moment over!-- angelbear1129@... wrote: Hi , No not brave, just got wiser with age ) I have been through the denial and the suicide tries, took a lot to finally wake me up to face myself... Guest guest
Hi , Sorry to hear of your Mom going through so much... I don't have the butterfly rash, i have the rash that comes onto my face and neck... I have problems with my heart and lungs, bladder, nervous system, arthritis with lots of joint pain, etc... Hope she stays feeling good... ((( Caring Hugs )))Helen Funny, that's actually how my Mom's lupus was diagnosed. With a gall bladder removal. She had a hysterectomy, then 2 months later her appendix out, and a few months after that her gall bladder. The surgeon who removed her gall bladder noticed she had a rash across her face and all her surgeries. He ordered that she be worked up for lupus before she lef the hopsital, She also has rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and asthma. She is doing really well. Her lupus is well managed. She has a lot of pain, but her boyfriend is very supportive and makes sure she doesn't overdue. Too bad she doesn't have internet, or I'd encourage her to join this board. Guest guest
Actually my Mom is doing pretty well. Everything is managed fairly well and she has a very supportive boyfriend. I hope that you stay feeling good, too, Helen. I'm sure you know the trick is to take it one day at a time and be kind to yourself. -- angelbear1129@... wrote: Hi , Sorry to hear of your Mom going through so much...
