Hi ,

She must have received an enrollment letter enrolling her into a

closed panel MCO in this case likely Providence MCO. If she is willing

have her sign a change of physician 827 and make you the attending and even if

you is enrolled you still have 7 days from the date of the enrollment letter

(not when the get the letter) to stay with you before she must go to a panel

provider. Alternatively, if she wishes to stay with the MD and he remains

the attending and she is not enrolled she doesn’t have to see a “ChiroNet”/Providence

MCO Chiro she can see you and she can continued even if enrolled for the say

7-day period. Lastly, if she stays with the MD, is not enrolled and

wishes to see you the MD’s little script for 6 visits will not be enough to

get you paid as the MD must include specific information which they never know

to provide nor wish to. I have a canned macro with said info you can use

as a template what I recommend is that you call the MD give him/her a heads up

that the form is coming to sign off on it and then fax it back. DO NOT

rely on the MD and staff to send in this form it is likely not to get done you

need to do it….give me your fax number and I’ll fax the MD referral

macro to you….Cheers, Vern SaboePS: Don’t forget the free Workers

Comp Seminar I and the Gatti Firm will be presenting on Aug. 14 at Western

States Hampton Hall we will go over stuff like this and the seminar is FREE!

Subject: quick workcomp question

I have a patient who was in a work injury last

week.

She presented to a medical clinic and has follow ups scheduled.

She was perscribed 6 chiropractic visits and handed a list of doctors she could

present

to. She states that it has the word " Chironet " on the list.

I am not on the MCO list.

Is it possible that she was MCO' d 1 week post injury?
