House Bill 2009 which was passed during the 2009 regular session is consistent with the new federal health care bill that calls for health insurance for all Oregonians/Americans. Good, bad, or ugly it's coming an your only trade organization is look out for you the Oregon Chiropractic Association.

Mr. Tom Daly Chief Legal Council for the ACA attended the recent annual meeting of the "National Association of Chiropractic Attorneys." During that annual meeting the association passed a resolution applauding the historic federal "Non-discrimination Provision" language (Section 2706) which means that the system must cover chiropractic services equal to medicine. This association of chiropractic attorney plan to stimulate maximum effort of state associations in support of the ACA and this provision. As I type our enemies are collectively gathering on the hill in an attempt to remove the "non-descrimination provision." So who will counter them, who will go to war against them, who will lead the fight against organized medicine who has supressed this profession for so long?? Well on the state level the Oregon Chiropractic Association and on the federal level the American Chiropractic Association. If there were ever a time the profession needed you support it is now if you are not a member of your only state trade organization please join the Oregon Chiropractic Association today call me at 541-231-4528 and I will facilitate your application to the association. If you are not a member of your national trade organization please join the ACA today as well.

Yes, I know any time the federal government gets involved things tend to go South. However, unlike the other universal health care system around the world who continue to apply the "medical model" of health care which is actually "disease care" and who do not have a level playing field for alternative health care providers. This new US system will focus on true health and wellness and provide a level playing field for non-medical providers and as a consequence significant cost reductions while improving outcomes....hey it could work! We as a profession are either at the dinner table with the other stakeholders the other big players or we will be on the menu the OCA on the state level and the ACA nationally is making sure we are sitting at that dinner table.....please join today, add your shoulder to that big stone wheel we are nearing the top of the mountain.....

To The Continued Good Fight!!!!
