Guest guest
Hi Ladies, I'm going to begin BFL on 12/27 after a 2 year hiatus. Can someone catch me up quickly on the Eating For Life book and how it fits into the BFL program. I'm an old-schooler using the BFL book, and don't know how the EFL book fits in. I need a quick catch up. I've been out of the loop for quite a while now..BUT AM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK IN! Les
Guest guest
I thoroughly enjoy the Eating for Life book. Well worth the cost. Bill has messages that supplement the Body for Life book. As for the ingredients- it is truly eating for LIFE- something you can follow forever if you choose. To answer your question about maintenance- there are definitely recipes in there that I'll only use after my challenge, for maintenance. Some of the calorie contents are too high for me while working on losing fat- but will be fine once I'm maintaining the loss. (I KNOW we're not supposed to count calories, but to lose that last 10 pounds, you gotta do what you gotta do.) Other recipes are great for the challenge- like the nutrition shake ideas. Guest guest
I used it solely for my first 2 challenges and had wonderful results you can see them under Michele T. I think the book made the transition from couch potato Mcs junkie a bit easier. My family ate what I cooked and I have a 2 and 9 year old and they liked it. My daughters favorite is Buffalo burgers and she even requests it! I think the recipes were very easy to prepare most in under 30 minutes. I would say that is much better then most of the Cooking Light recipes I use (they take much longer to prepare). Just depends on what your goals are. Now if your goal is to look like one of the pictures in the book after 12 weeks the Eating For Life is a bit relaxed for that. Now if your goal is to make a lifestyle change you can stick with forever the Eating For Life book rocks! Guest guest
I've only read about BFL on the websites and other websites of people who do it (Skwigg mostly). I found it very interesting and decided to buy the EFL Book. Now, let me just say that I've been working out for a long time, doing strength training and cardio about 6 total days a week. I eat " OK " but not great and I've never gotten to where I want to be-- tight and no jiggle. My " before " photos that I have are not so great (haven't posted yet)and I had been working out a LOT! I finally got that results are about 80% related to your diet. I started doing BFL modified to fit my needs 2 weeks ago and have lost 3.4 lbs so far. I feel great, I feel less jiggle, I LOVE THIS WAY TO EAT!!! I'm doing my own at home workouts, not the BFL Workouts. The recipes in EFL are awesome. I can give them to my husband and he is liking it too... So far I've made Asian Beef Stir Fry, Seafood Pasta Salad, Greek Pinwheels, Strawberry Cheesecake, one of the breakfast sandwiches, Teriyaki Chicken and Homestyle Turkey Meatloaf. I will make all of them again, they're delish! I would recommend this book to anyone!!!!! > > > In a message dated 3/30/2006 7:14:09 P.M.
