Rowley Post Office Suspends Mail Because Of Mold

ROWLEY, Iowa -- The post office in the eastern town of Rowley is

closed because of mold.

The U.S. Postal Service has issued a temporary emergency suspension of

service after a chronically leaking roof caused mold and mildew to

grow on an interior wall. Mail is being rerouted through the

Quasqueton post office.

Rowley Mayor Rita Knutson said a meeting is set for Thursday to gather

ideas to keep the post office open.

The Buchanan County town has about 300 residents.
