Guest guest
Hi guys I just had to share my trial and error story. Up until 4 or 5 weeks ago, I had been using the machines at the gym for my lower body workouts. Sure, in the beginning, I was sore. But eventually, no matter how hard I pushed myself or how high I put the weights, I could no longer get sore. Now, I know after years of working in the veterinary industry and wrestling with and picking up huge dogs I started out my weight training already pretty strong. Well, I kept going on the machines with okay results (the best results were in my butt). Anyhoo, recently, when I began my " recommitment " challenge I decided to do my LBWO at home by doing lunges, squats, and dead lifts. I am now into week 6 of doing this, and I can now do lunges with weights and without falling over. I am telling you, I am still getting sore after every workout! MAJORLY sore! Like I just began to realize that my quads incorporate 3 different areas because I feel them in all the different areas! The same goes for my hamstrings and glutes. I have never felt soreness like this! I don't think there is much of a better work out than this. Really, when you think about it, the machines don't require you to work as hard, and you probably don't use a weight level that is equal to or near your own body weight. With these 3 workouts, I have been working so many muscles all at once! I just wanted to share. Especially for beginners. These exercises are great for those of us who are comfortable with machines, but may need to push ourselves a little more. I swear that my quads are building up too. I can actually feel that the muscles are bigger and more toned when I run up the stairs too. I put my hands on them with each step on the stair and I feel them not only around and just above my knee, but also up high where the quad tapers off. Just had to share my progress. Thanks for " listening! " -Ruth
