Guest guest
I wash my hair and after I use Vaseline mixed with aloe plant that's for black hair just in case it works and I cover my hair when going into buildings wich I try not to do are parking lots. I went to walmart the other day stayed in the parking Lot far away from the building yet my skin looked as if it was burn. the Air-Condition the doors open the bad air comes out!?. WETHEPEOPLE Elvira [] Re: hair decontamination I've only used vinegar in rinse water, are you saying it is good to mix with shampoo? I have had times my hair came out dry, maybe that was when there was some baking soda still in hair before vinegar. Generally hair turns out great but I will watch it now. I just thought I was having an occasional 'bad hair day' for some other reason. > > I agree, it does clean great but I strongly recommennd to not use > the vinegar and baking soda in the same shampoo session. Guest guest
The vinegar is for rinsing but not after using the baking soda..the 2 should not be used during the same shampooing session. I use a little baking soda mixed with shampoo for deep cleaning. When I worked in Florida as a hairstylist, we crushed asprins to remove clorine from the hair as well. Using any of these products can be drying and damaging if not used properly. The vinegar rinse is OK as it will not damage when used alone. One might need to use a conditioner afterwards if the hair is dry or damage already. > > > > I agree, it does clean great but I strongly recommennd to not use > > the vinegar and baking soda in the same shampoo session. Guest guest
Aloe Vera get sounds like a good thing even for straight hair. I get the best ideas in these groups! > > I wash my hair and after I use Vaseline mixed with aloe plant that's for black hair just in case it works and I cover my hair when going into
Guest guest
Do all of you think this would be a good hair clarifier? My daughter still has a build up of chlorine in her hair from last year. (so the beautician says) But, I am afraid to use the products that they recommend. Afraid she may have a reaction. I do her hair at home now, and would love to try this. She can tolerate vinegar. I'd love to get her hair cleaned up, it's blonde and a bit dirty & dull looking. [] Re: hair decontamination > I've only used vinegar in rinse water, are you saying it is good to > mix with shampoo? Guest guest
Does her hair appear " greenish? " Does she have a " sticky " feel to her hair? Then she may or may not have a clorine build-up..usually it does not take months for clorine to come out if hair is shampooed several times a week. Do you have well water? The best product for mineral and medication removal from the hair is Aloe Rid by Nexxus. Vinegar will not remove clorine. Baking soda will remove a little bit. Taking about 5 adult asprins and desolving them in a tiny amount of water and mixing with clarifying shampoo will remove even more. There are many inexpensive safe products designed to remove clorine and etc on the market now. I still love my natural " fixes " like olive oil treatments, Baking soda for deep cleaning, vinegar rinses ( I use vinegar about 2 times a week in my bath water, soak my hair too..not to be used with soda)...but due to so many great inexpensive products being marketed now, we can clean our hair much better without the kitchen! BTW..A few people wrote me and asked why they could not use vinegar and soda in the same shampoo session...take a cup of baking soda and pour it into your drain and then take a cup of vinegar and pour it on top of the soda...you will see a bubbling action that is breaking up all sorts of nasty stuff...my point even the least little bit of one or the other left in the hair could cause damage if used together...it is just safer to rotate the use in different shampoo sessions..do the vinegar one day and the baking soda another. Always make sure you rinse and rinse the soda. It can slightly lighten hair if used too much and not rinsed properly. > >> > >> I agree, it does clean great but I strongly recommennd to not use > >> the vinegar and baking soda in the same shampoo session. Guest guest
thanks all for the help on hair decon- felt great after a 45 min swim at the y, and hair and head felt fine till this afternoon when I think i cross contaminated it- sure was the best i have felt- had tried most other things, so I guess I think the swimming is the best for me- the only thing that worked for more than a few min. Thanks Thanks,
Guest guest
Our local Y here does not use much chlorine, but watch out for the oils that people wear into the water. I had to scrub for an hour in a hot shower to get it all off... my poor long hair was greased for days. All those oils have fragrances added too. I thought I would wear a bathing cap. I never swim at the Y but am staying at my brother's cuz I am basically homeless since I couldn't tolerate my apartment and the chemicals. Hopefully the chlorine won't be too bad. > > thanks all for the help on hair decon- felt great after a 45 min swim at the y, and hair and head felt fine till this afternoon when I think i cross contaminated it- sure was the best i have felt- had tried most other things, so I guess I think the swimming is the best for me- the only thing that worked for more than a few min. > Thanks > > > Thanks, > FAIR USE NOTICE:
