I have reached the point in my studies where I know enough to understand how little I know and have been feeling a bit discouraged. I keep reminding myself this is an important stage to reach in learning any art but it helps to hear you say that you used to mess up a lot too! I have had plenty of successes to keep me going but I still make so many mistakes. I can't really say I still create a lot of stinky blends but I recognize now that every blend I have ever made needs improvement. I miss the rush I felt at the beginning whenever I just made something that smelled good! Now I want to make art and it takes time! So thanks for saying that you used to mess up too! __________________________________________________

I remember a particular corker...... was working on the Cathedral commission and had made up some accords which I had listed 1-6 ...... came upon labdanum which I thought to m'self ........eureka..... bought some added one drop and ruined one of them in one fail swoop ........ that stuff is tenaceous..............it can, if you don't understand it overwhelm ...but used with respect ie in an amber base ..... beautiful enriching...... still makes me wondrous at how some plants tenacity can be so powerful and others more delicate...... just like personalities....... learning to communicate with them and discern how to bring out their best points and their capabilities and nuances is and ever shall be a continuous learning curve for which I know, I will be forever strolling.
