Guest guest
Well, I finally got started. I had a pretty good day today . . . I think that my problem is that I've been focusing too much on perfection. I thought I had to do everything absolutely perfectly or not at all. But today, I planned to do UBWO and LBWO plus cardio b/c my work schedule really limits my gym time. But I was only able to get in a hard core LBWO and cardio and I realized that that was fine for now. I'm gonna try really hard to get in a UBWO tomorrow night along with the usual cardio. I did pretty good with eating today too. I made a really yummy chicken salad with pineapple, papaya, gorgonzola cheese and raspberry vinagrette. So anyway, I'll stop boring you all with this . . . But it is really nice to have a place to go to talk about this stuff. Everyone here is so excited and encouraging, you all make me think I can make it too! Guest guest
Marci, Congrats on a great day one. Just MO, but you may not want to try to do your cardio plus both your UBWO and LBWO in one day. It doesn't give any time for your muscles to recover (plus it must take a long time!) 'Strict' BFL in the book calls for either cardio or weights 6 days a week, but I, and I know several other folks, do both the weights and cardio on the same day (as long as you swap off UB and LB and do the weights first). > > Well, I finally got started. Guest guest
Hi I had a personal trainer a while back, and when I started out, I was doing UB, LB and running on the same day, under her guidance. As far as I understand it, it's not a problem to do your whole workout on one day, what it's important not to do is to work the same muscle group two days in a row. That's when you're not allowing the muscle to recover - you need preferably two days rest to allow the muscle to repair and grow. When doing a full body workout on one day, it shouldn't matter because you are exercising different muscles. Just don't do another workout (only cardio) the next day. I think split programs (UB one workout, LB the next) is because, as you get more advanced, you lift heavier weights and probably do more exercises per muscle group, so time constraints make it sensible to split the program. I think a lot of bodybuilders train different muscle groups on consecutive days, ie they don't necessarily have a cardio-only day between UB and LB. Hope this helps > > > > Well, I finally got started. I had a pretty good day today . . . I > > think that my problem is that I've been focusing too much on > > perfection.
