Guest guest
Yes Dale, Colleagues it was a great get together and fun finally meeting the “faces behind the emails!” I still think it would be a good idea to keep the geographic reference of “Districts” from the days of old as at least many of us “old dogs” recall the geographic areas each contained. For example the meeting last night was “District 3” originally we would always meet in Salem once a month. The area or cities District 3 included were Sweet Home, Lebanon, Albany, Corvallis, Newport, Salem, Woodburn, Silverton, Stayton, and McMinnville probably leaving out some…but you get the idea. It is also important to have these district meetings each month, the same day of the month, at the same time and local so doctors and their spouses can plan for them. There is nothing like seeing and greeting colleagues face to face in a social setting and by so doing break down preconceived notions about each other. Funny (and heart warming) how disagreements or supposed conflict over an issue with a colleague(s) can be defused and turned into something productive or simply disregarded as much to do about nothing over a glass (or two) of wine and a few laughs….it was great I for one miss those old district meetings and am excited they are indeed coming back… THANK YOU Dr. Lind and Mr. Jennings!! Guest guest
I was unable to attend last night, but, I hope we will resume more regular district meetings, if not monthly, then quarterly. I would be happy to assist with District 3. Let me know. Guest guest
Super Zohra we could use your help! I think it is a must that we meeting month, and be consistent so doctors can plan well ahead e.g., last Wed of each month, same time 6:30 PM, same location etc. This doesn’t mean doctors must feel they have to make every meeting however it is a whole lot easier to remember when the next meeting is if it’s the same time of the month, same day of the week, same time, and the same location. Alternatively it is easy to lose track when exactly the meetings are or the next meeting after missing if they are spaced out to something like quarterly and as such they will simply die on the vine due to attrition over time….
